Our Practitioners

The people—warm, welcoming, professional—make this practice. Blake Dental Group dentists maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to keep up with the latest trends in dentistry. Everyone here takes the time and makes the effort needed to form lasting partnerships with our patients.

Carol A. Blake, DDS

Dr. Carol Blake, a Massachusetts native, established the Blake Dental Group in 2011, after more than 20 years of providing care to patients in the Washington, DC area. She grew up outside of Worcester, and was drawn to dentistry because she wanted to be in a healing profession and work with her hands. Dr. Blake earned a bachelor of science in zoology from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst; and, in 1988, graduated magna cum laude with a doctorate in dental surgery from the Georgetown University School of Dentistry. She then went on to complete a general practice residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Manchester, NH. Following her residency, Dr. Blake returned to Washington to begin clinical work. In 2000, she joined Dr. John Beschenbossel’s practice in Friendship Heights; and then, eleven years later, bought the practice and made it her own.

One of Dr. Blake’s passions is helping underprivileged people obtain their badly needed dental care. For more than 20 years, she volunteered in the dental clinic of Washington’s Spanish Catholic Center, which offers free and low-cost dental services to its community. In her off-hours Dr. Blake uses her hands in another way, molding pottery. She is married and has one son.

Morgan Kneib, DMD

Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Dr. Morgan Kneib grew up in a dental family. Her mother, father and brother all practice and share in her passion for the profession. After graduating with a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Kneib remained there and, in 2007, was certified as a registered dental hygienist. Eager to attain more education in the field, she enrolled in the College of Dental Medicine at Arizona’s Midwestern University, and, in 2012, acquired her doctorate of dental medicine.

When Dr. Kneib joined Blake Dental Group in 2014, it was clear her warm and nurturing style of dentistry fit the practice model. It’s a style reinforced by her close-knit dental family, and which immediately puts patients at ease. At work, her mission is two-fold: To combine her clinical experience as a hygienist in promoting health and preventing disease, with her expertise as a dentist in providing patients with a thorough diagnosis and confident smile.

As the newest associate in this practice, Dr. Kneib truly looks forward to building her dental family, one relationship at a time. In her off-hours, Dr. Kneib gives full expression to her eye for detail and aesthetics by painting acrylics on canvas.

John H. Beschenbossel, DDS

Dr. John H. Beschenbossel did his undergraduate studies at Temple University in Philadelphia and then obtained his doctorate in dental surgery from Temple’s School of Dentistry. He went on from there to serve in the U.S. Army. While in uniform and later he pursued advanced study in general anesthesia, oral surgery and medicine, orthodontics, periodontics, fixed and removable prosthodontics, endodontics, operative dentistry, oral pathology, and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Beschenbossel, a native of Duluth, Minnesota, has lived over the years in South Dakota, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, as well as in Japan. He established the practice that is now the Blake Dental Group in 19xx and operated it until selling it to Dr. Carol Blake in 2011.

As evidence of the range of his advanced training, Dr. Beschenbossel brings competence in virtually every aspect of care of the teeth to the Blake Dental Group. He received recognition from his peers who named him one of Virginia Living Magazine’s top dentists in 2011 and 2012. When he steps aside from his dental work, Dr. Beschenbossel devotes himself to collecting scrimshaw and to his automobile collection—he currently owns a Rolls Royce, a Bentley, and a Maserti, among others—and writing children’s books. His most recent book, My Buddy Mr. Squash, is a true story about a cat that lived in the barn of his horse farm near Annapolis, Maryland.
