Blake Dental Group offers a full range of dental services for patients of all ages from toddlers to senior citizens. Our goal is to bring you the best achievable results with the least amount of treatment necessary.
A comprehensive dental examination involves much more than looking at your teeth! Your dentist is an integral component of your overall team of health care providers. We need to understand all aspects of your general health that can contribute to or impact your oral health. During your initial visit, your doctor will ask questions about you and your oral health and will take the time to listen to your concerns and treatment goals. Your examination will include obtaining a thorough medical and dental history, diagnostic information and x-rays, and a head/neck and oral cancer screening. We will make sure that you understand what we can do together to improve the health, comfort, and esthetics of your mouth and will provide a treatment plan that you can understand and feel comfortable with.
tooth colored fillings
If your dentist determines that you need to have a filling, there may be a few options available to you. Composite resin is a durable alternative to silver fillings. Filling shades are customized to match your tooth color so you will never even know they are there!
Root canal therapy
A “root canal” is needed for a tooth when a cavity gets too close to the nerve. With local anesthesia, this is a painless procedure which is necessary to save a tooth and alleviate your pain. In some cases we will perform this treatment for you in our office and in other cases we will refer you to a local endodontist who will then send you back to our office after the treatment has been completed.
onlays and crowns
If your tooth has extensive decay or a large filling that is failing, your dentist may recommend that an onlay or a crown be placed on that tooth. Some people use the term “cap” for this treatment.
Onlays and crowns restore a tooth to its natural shape and appearance. Ceramic materials similar to tooth enamel are custom shaped and bonded to the tooth to make it look brand new. Long lasting gold is an option for less visible molars.
In cases where a tooth is too damaged to be repaired, or congenitally missing, it can be replaced by an artificial tooth that looks and feels like the real thing. With a root form made of titanium, implants are more comfortable and secure than traditional partials or dentures for replacing teeth. If you are missing a tooth please ask your dentist if an implant may be an option for you.
Fixed bridgework is another method used to replace a missing tooth or teeth. This treatment borrows the strength of adjacent teeth to attach the missing tooth or teeth in a non-removable fashion. Your bridge is constructed from the same ceramic materials as crowns and matched to the shade of the existing neighboring teeth for maximum aesthetic appearance.
Our dentists are proficient in creating smiles and functional appliances for those who need removable dentures. Full mouth arches to restore all of your teeth as well as partial dentures which can clasp onto your existing teeth are available. Partial dentures are available in a rigid or a flexible base. Your dentist will discuss the best option for you for functionality and comfort. Advances in implant technology may also be utilized to retain and support dentures.
In addition to color, the size, shape and alignment of your teeth also affect your smile. Veneers are strong porcelain shells painlessly bonded to the outside of your teeth. They are custom made to fit and look like natural teeth.
Refers to the use of tooth colored composite resin to repair teeth that are chipped, crooked, cracked, stained and/or gapped. If you have a gap in your front teeth, bonding is an affordable and fast alternative to conventional braces. Typically this is achieved in one painless appointment.
extractions / wisdom teeth
We perform a wide range of surgical services on site in our office. Sometimes a tooth needs to be extracted due to extensive decay and sometimes a tooth needs to be extracted to make room for other teeth. Your dentist will talk to you about your wisdom teeth at your first appointment. In some cases we can extract them for you in our office if this is the most appropriate treatment. Your dentist will use x-rays and other diagnostics to determine if a tooth needs to be extracted. Under local anesthesia this is a painless process.
in-office / take-home whitening
Blake Dental Group offers several methods to help you achieve that white smile that you desire, including a customized home whitening system with the option of an in-office power boost. Please ask your dentist about options to achieve a brighter, whiter smile.
Our office easily handles minor tooth movement, which is often required to prepare a more favorable environment for a tooth restoration. However, when children and adults need specialized dental care to straighten teeth, our office will refer them to an orthodontist.
Healthy gums and bone are essential to keeping teeth forever. Our dentists are well versed in coordinating non-surgical and surgical periodontal care.
People with jaw joint pain or limited function frequently benefit from non-invasive removable bite-splint therapy. These biocompatible appliances are usually worn at night and help with reducing symptoms.
